The airline was established and started operations on January 1, 1982 in Saint Thomas, the United States Virgin Islands but it later moved it's offices to San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Four Star Air Cargo was wholly owned by Four Star Aviation Inc.[1]

Four Star Air Cargo ceased operation in December of 2009.
